MS Islamic Studies
Program Overview:
The Master of Science in Islamic Studies (MS IS) at AGU offers a comprehensive and intellectually stimulating academic journey that equips students with a profound understanding of Islam and the ability to articulate its true message in today’s complex world.
In an era where misconceptions often obscure the genuine teachings of Islam, this program serves as a beacon of clarity—producing scholars who can effectively communicate Islamic principles, bridge cultural divides, and promote peaceful coexistence. Through in-depth study of the foundational sources of Shari’ah—the Qur’an and Sunnah—students develop a nuanced perspective of Islam’s teachings and relevance in contemporary times.
The MS IS curriculum integrates classical Islamic scholarship with modern academic disciplines and scientific advancements, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to engage in contemporary intellectual and social debates. The program is inclusive and diverse, welcoming students from various educational backgrounds, including those with traditional Islamic education such as Dars-e-Nizami.
By harmonizing tradition with modernity, the program provides a distinctive educational experience that responds to the urgent need for authentic, scholarly, and contextually aware representation of Islam.
